제주문화재단의 ‘빈집 프로젝트’ 빈집 4호
유수암버스차부는 제주문화재단의 지원사업인 ‹빈집 프로젝트›의 빈집 4호로 시작했습니다. 지역은 예술가에게 창작 공간을 제공하고, 예술가들은 지역민에게 ‘예술 활동’의 계기를 마련하여 해당 지역만의 새로운 문화를 창출하는 것을 목표로 했습니다. 유수암버스차부라는 이름으로 모인 프로젝트 그룹은 2013년에 제주특별자치도 제주시 애월읍 유수암 상동 원형광장에 입주했고, 약 1년의 시간을 마을의 일원이 되기 위해 고군분투했습니다. 그 시간 동안 완전히 노출된 원형광장에서 작품을 제작하고 마을 주민들과 교류하며 어린이 대상의 미술 교육프로그램을 운영했습니다. 이 모든 과정의 결실은 2013년 10월 10일 ‘프로릭 아트 페스티벌’이라는 이름의 축제로 지역주민과 참여예술가가 함께 만들었습니다.

Yusuam bus station started as the fourth ‘Unoccupied House Project’, providing spaces to artists so that they could provide ‘an opportunity for art’ and create a new culture with near-by residents. The project group settled down in Aewol-eup of Jeju Island, where during the year aimed to become a member of the local community. In an open space, the group created art as well as running art programs for children. The fruits of the project were reaped in October 10th, 2013, when local residents and participating artists came together at the ‘Frolic Art Festival’.”
